Here's how to apply
Dayforce Cares Canada only accepts applications during specific windows and with a limited number of applications accepted for each window. Please review the Application Windows and Accepted Number of Applications section below for full details.

Application Windows and Accepted Number of Applications
Please note the following:
- Dayforce Cares will accept a maximum of 490 applications per year across four application windows
- Number of applications accepted during each window is broken out across regions.
- An application window closes when 1) the maximum number of applications is reached, 2) the two-week application window ends, or 3) budget has been exhausted for a region

Review Dayforce Cares application criteria
Please note the following:
- Dayforce Cares does not provide repeat grants to recipients or households. If approved, grant recipients/households are not eligible to apply again.
- Those who have a pending or declined application are not eligible to re-apply within 12 months of their original application date.
- The level of funding assistance may vary based on the cost of the item and the availability of funds at the time the request is received, to a maximum of $5,000.
- No additional funding for the same piece of equipment will be provided after funding is approved, even if: other agencies have not fulfilled their approved funds or changed their funding criteria; items were missed in the quote; the size of the item increased; additional items are required for the equipment.
As of September 1, 2025, we can no longer accept the following grant requests:
- Rental or mortgage assistance. If you have a pending application for rental or mortgage assistance that was submitted prior to this date, your application will still be considered.

- Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency for the recipient. .
- Acceptable forms of documentation include: Recipient’s Canadian birth certificate, passport, Indian status card or permanent residence card. We do not accept health cards or driver's licenses.
- Prior year's Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment for ALL adults in the household (over 18 years of age). We do not accept tax filing documents and only the CRA Notice of Assessment.
- Basic Needs grant requests, recipient annual household income must be at or below the "Low Income Cut Off before tax" level as defined by Stats Canada
- Quality of Life grant requests, recipient annual household income must be at or below the "Median before-tax family income in their province or territory" as defined by Stats Canada
- Two quotes/estimates from vendors or service providers for the cost of the item(s) for which financial assistance is being requested.
- Optional: Letter from a third party to support your claims (e.g., doctor, teacher, social worker, therapist, etc.).
- For requests for therapies such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, or psychotherapy, a note from a health practitioner outlining the expected timeframe the therapy will be needed (total duration must be less than six months) as well as the outcome goals.
- For requests for a portion of a larger expense (i.e., requesting $3,000 toward something that costs $10,000), must include confirmation that funds have been secured for the balance of the needed amount.
Begin the Application
Once you have all the required documents, follow the steps below to apply:
- Click on the “Begin Application” button
- Select your province to determine your Application eligibility
- If eligible to apply, complete the required fields of the Application for Grant form
- Scan and upload all the required documents
- Click “Submit”
AFTER YOU APPLY
Here’s what happens after you submit your application
You can expect a response within 90 days of your submission letting you know your application status. NOTE: Incomplete applications and missing attachments will cause delays.

Dayforce Cares reserves the right to verify that funds disbursed have been used for the purposes for which they were approved. Dayforce Cares may ask for your participation in Dayforce Cares promotional activities, but will only do so with your consent and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
