Visit or dial 2-1-1 on any phone in the U.S. or Canada

The best way to find assistance close to you is through 211, a platform that can connect you with a full range of non-emergency social, health and government services in your community. To access 211, simply dial “2-1-1” on your telephone or visit www.211.org. 211 is supported by Unted Way.

If 211 service is not available in your area, your local United Way can also help connect you with programs and resources in your community

Red Cross

A wide range of community support services are offered by the Red Cross, particularly in urgent situations. Additionally, The American Red Cross works in partnership with Military Aid Societies to provide quality, reliable financial assistance to eligible applicants 24/7/365.

 Financial assistance can include funds for emergency travel, burial of a loved one, emergency food and shelter, etc. The Aid Societies determine the financial assistance package that will be offered – a grant or a loan. The Red Cross is the mechanism to expedite access to these financial resources.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army gives hope and support to vulnerable in 134 countries. You can find Salvation Army services including: rent and utility assistance, services for the aging, job training, homeless shelters, food pantries, rehabilitation, LGBTQ+ support, veteran services, life skills to escape poverty, disaster relief, youth services, and more.

Goodwill

Goodwill is a thrift store where you can find discounted previously-owned items. Find a store near you. Did you know? Goodwill also provides employment and employment services, complete with skills training, credentialing and access to education.
